What Are Templates?

An explanation of quilting templates.

How Templates Work

A template has a groove the shape of a pattern. A stylus tip attached to your quilt machine allows you to trace the grooved pattern. As the stylus tip moves through the groove, the needle of your quilt machine mimics the same movements, stitching the pattern onto your quilt.

Anchoring templates

Templates have a non-slip backing that prevents them from sliding while in use. EZ Stops can also be used to secure a template in place.
