Butler Tutorial 08 (Linux) – How to Recover from a Thread Break

Main Points

The main points of this tutorial include:

  • brief overview of the thread break feature
  • how to recover from a thread break

In this tutorial, we will discuss how to use the thread break feature. Occasionally the thread will break while butler is stitching a pattern. Let’s say that while I was stitching this clover, my thread broke right about here. It can be frustrating to pick out all of the stitches and start from scratch. Instead of starting over, Butler allows you to pick up where you left off. First, make sure that you have the Stitch Controller engaged. Press the Green Go button. When the dialog box appears, make sure that your needle is in the up position and press set start. A preview of the pattern will appear. Move the needle on until it is on top of our just before the thread break in the pattern, then press the green check mark. Butler will perform a tie off, and then continue stitching the pattern as normal. In the next tutorial, we will discuss how to nest a pattern.
